Mooney Appointed to Monroe County Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors

Stroudsburg - Monroe County Habitat for Humanity has appointed Dennis Mooney, V.P. Associate Broker/Sales Manager with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates to the position of a Board of Director member beginning January 1st, 2012 when he will be installed to the position.

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity was formed in 1990 and officially became affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International in 1994. Their first project was in 1996 and since then the affiliate has completed 17 homes in the county, housing over 50 people.

Through no-interest mortgages and the use of volunteers and families' sweaty-equity, Monroe County Habitat for Humanity works to eliminate sub-standard housing in the community.

Mooney, who began his career in the Poconos after graduating from ESU in the early 80s, has made the Poconos his home for the past 35+ years. During that time, Mooney has been very involved in the real estate industry in a number of capacities. He was owner of Glenbrook Realty & Construction Company, has been a Board of Director member of the Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS® for the past 16 years and continues to be involved with the Arthritis Foundation Board of Directors. Mooney now serves on the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation.

Today, Mooney is a member of the Wilkins team and is responsible for recruiting, managing the Bushkill office and an active member of the management team at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates.
