Bush Hired Top Position at PA1st Settlement

Stroudsburg, PA –Pennsylvania First Settlement Services II, LP announced the hiring of Maryjo “MJ” Bush to the position of Executive Vice President for the company.  The announcement was made, Friday, October 31st at the PA1st Corporate office at 404 Park Avenue in Stroudsburg.

Bush has over 20 years’ experience in the title and settlement business.   Said Bush, “When the opportunity became available to work for Pennsylvania First Settlement Services, I jumped at the opportunity.  PA1st is a forward-thinking title and settlement company that is always looking to expand their market place geographically, by people and services.  That’s important to me.”

Bush previously was the owner of Advantage Abstract located on Route 739 in Dingmans Ferry.  Bush opened the company in 2007 and successfully ran the business until 2013.  “I was at a crossroads as to what to do with Advantage Abstract.  To continue with it as a small company or to blend my services, skills and market shares with a company like PA1st.  Presented with the opportunity to join PA1st, I simply took the jump and came on board.” said Bush.

PA1st started in 2005 as a joint venture with First American Title Insurance Company (FAF).  Approximately, 2 to 3 years later, the company was purchased by Thomas R. Wilkins who remains the General Partner.

Said Bush, “Expansion is really not “tops” on my agenda.  Instead, I want to introduce myself to our existing customers and clients and assure them that the same level of services will continue.”  PA1st is the only company in the Pocono Mountains that delivers the closing documents on a disk.  In addition to receiving all the documents in a “green manner”, people who purchase their home and close through PA1st are what are considered a “Customer for Life”.  This enables that purchaser to receive discounts when they refinance, change a Deed, sell or somehow need title insurance products in the future.

PA1st is also one of the only title companies that offer a home warranty for purchase, can arrange for homeowner insurance through their offices and similar to a retail store, buyers are able to receive numerous qualified discounts at local businesses.  Said Bush, “If these are vacation home buyers, and/or families moving into our area, we don’t want the services of PA1st to stop at the closing table.  Instead, we strive to make that buyer a part of our community.  If there’s ways that we can help that family out getting introduced to our local doctors, our favorite restaurants, where they can play golf or ski, then and only then do I think our job is done.”
