Karen Sherrill Joins Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Assocations

Mount Pocono – Dennis Mooney, V.P./Sales Manager, Company Recruiter, announced the hiring of Karen A. Sherrill to the position of Salesperson for the Mount Pocono office.

Sherrill, who currently resides in Albrightsville, is originally from Yardley, PA and has lived in the Poconos for the last 6 years.

Since 1997, Sherrill has been involved in the real estate industry as an investor and then, along with her husband, a Real Estate Agent with Better Properties Real Estate in the state of Washington.

Currently, Sherrill is a website publisher and affiliate marketer, volunteering her time as Webmaster for the Penn Kidder Library and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Sherrill is also the Youth Choir Director and a Sunday school teacher.

Rosalyn Burt Joins Better Homes and Gardens

Bushkill – Rosalyn Burt, Salesperson has joined the Better Homes and Gardens organization as a full-time Realtor.  Burt is originally from Doylestown and has lived in the Poconos for the past 15 years.

Burt is a member of The Falls community association Board of Directors.

Burt has been in the real estate industry since 1983.  Her real estate career began in Toms River, New Jersey as a mortgage closer, as a real estate review secretary with the Honorable Francis P. Piscal, a real estate secretary for the law firm of Orlovsky, Grasso & Bolger and in the title business as an administrator from 2000 to 2006.

Wilkins & Associates Attends PMAR Christmas Party

Bushkill – Thomas R. Wilkins, CEO; Dennis Mooney, V.P./Assoc Broker; Nicole Murray, Realtor; as well as other select agents attended the Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS Christmas party held at the Bushkill Inn and Conference Center.

“It was an exciting dinner,” said Thomas Wilkins.  “Nicole Murray, Realtor from our Bushkill office was inaugurated as President of the PMAR effective January 1st and Dennis Mooney was inaugurated as a Director with the PMAR Board.”

The dinner was hosted by Christine Scrofano-Wilkins, Chairperson of the Social Committee.

The Bushkill Inn and Conference Center (formerly Poc Mont) is a totally renovated hotel resort located off Bushkill Road in Bushkill, Pennsylvania.

Said Thomas R. Wilkins, “The food was great, the atmosphere was fantastic and the group in attendance was exceptional.”  Approximately 80+ agents, dignitaries and guests attended.

Featured in a photograph is Dennis Mooney, who received his first “buck” of the season.  Said Dennis, “I am going to send this to my granddaughter in the morning.”  Mooney was a recipient of one of the several prizes handed out.

National Recognition awarded to the Carl Maurer Team

Parsippany, NJ - The Carl Maurer Team, under the direction of Carl Maurer, Assoc Broker with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates, was awarded the Emerald Elite Award by Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, LLC for having the highest level of Gross Commission Income earned and for handling the most Unit Volume of any other BHG team.  Both categories are based brand-wide, meaning all of the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate offices were included.

Joan Barton, Client Services Manager for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, LLC made the announcement at the 2013 Fusion Convention held in Las Vegas on February 5^th at the Aria Resort & Casino.  Although The Carl Maurer Team was not in attendance, the announcement was made in front of the 400+ Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate brokers, managers and agents.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Announces Top 10 in Sales for 2012

Skytop  - At the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates Annual Awards brunch held this year at Skytop Lodge, the Top 10 in Sales were awarded their plaques by Christine A. Scrofano-Wilkins, Gen Manager and Master of Ceremony.  Annually, the Company acknowledges those Salespersons who generated the most income in residential sales.

For 2012, those honorees were Carl Maurer, Associate Broker and head of “The Carl Maurer Team”, working from the Bushkill office; Dennis Farrelly, Realtor and member of “The Carl Maurer Team”; James Martin, Realtor and the 3rd member of “The Carl Maurer Team”, working from both the Bushkill and Stroudsburg offices; Kathy Skillman, Associate Broker who handles the North Pocono region for the company including Lake Wallenpaupack, Gouldsboro, Moscow and as far north as Pocono Springs Resort.

In 2013, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates is celebrating their 25^th year in business.  The company was founded by Thomas R. Wilkins, CEO with 3 persons in Mt. Pocono and expanded into the leader that they are today.

According to the Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS MLS system, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates was No. 1 in the number of units sold by company with 8.15%.  This was for closed residential sales in the four school districts (Mt. Pocono, Stroudsburg, Pleasant Valley & East Stroudsburg) located in Monroe and lower Pike County.  The next closest real estate office was REMAX Results with 5.58%, Keller Williams with 4.51% and the rest were 3% and under.

In total dollar volume, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates ranked No. 2 with 5.79% behind Keller Williams at 5.83%.  All told, the PMAR MLS data showed that the 2012 selling season, when compared to 2011, was only down by 2%.  The total number of units sold was up 16%, the sold volume up 10% and the average sale price down 5%.

Local Food Banks get Donation from Wilkins & Associates

Bushkill - Dennis Mooney, Vice President/Sales Manager of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates, along with Marilyn R. Lesoine, Office Administrator for Wilkins & Associates-PROPERTY MANAGEMENT donated 20 spiral hams to each of two food banks in Mount Pocono, Stroudsburg and Bushkill.

Each year Supervisors, employees and Realtors of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates and Wilkins & Associates-PROPERTY MANAGEMENT offer “Casual for a Cause” where for a $5.00 donation the managers, an agent or employee is able to dress-down and wear their favorite pair of blue jeans or casual attire to work on Fridays.  The program is sponsored by the Supervisors and handled by Francine Scouten, Payroll Coordinator who faithfully and diligently each week collects and deposits the money for just these special occasions.  The Company has been hosting “Casual for a Cause” for over 10 years now.

Said Patricia Blank-Toombs, VP/Sales Manager, “For several years we sponsored needy families and purchased Christmas gifts for the entire family who had no money to buy Christmas presents for their children or for that matter themselves.  It was a moving experience each year and one that (I’m sad to say) we looked forward to in order to help those families in need.  Last year and again this year, the Supervisors elected to sponsor foods banks instead of giving gifts.”

While Mooney was delivering his 20 hams to Kate Newman, Director of the Bushkill Outreach program, in Mount Pocono, Marilyn Lesoine was delivering her donation of $200.00 in non-perishable foods to the Pocono Mountain Ecumenical Hunger Ministry located on Church Avenue.  Said Lesoine, “I don’t know who was more excited, me or the Ministry!  I felt so good about giving the food and the Ministry felt so appreciative, we both just stood there and hugged one another to show the gratification and the satisfaction we were both experiencing.”

The Bushkill Outreach Program Mission Statement is that the Outreach Program is to be spiritually lead, a community effort, offering basic material support to their neighbors at their point of need.  We, as a representative of the community believe that the program is vital to our community at large as we strive today to take practical steps to offer support and sustenance primarily in the form of food, necessary clothing and furnishings.

Francis has lived in the Pocono area for the past 10 years and prior to that she resided in the New York area.  Francis took the required real estate courses, passed the necessary exams and is a graduate of the Pocono Real Estate Academy.  She received her real estate license in February of 2012.

Francis has a BA in Business Management and her prior work experience includes business management, customer relations and sales.

Centini comes to Better Homes and Gardens with extensive experience in the real estate market, including working as an interior designer/homebuyer service representative for LTS Builders from 2006 to 2009 during which time she oversaw the coordination, communication and administration of new home construction production from closing to completion.

While being recruited by Dennis Mooney, V.P./Associate Broker/Sales Manager in the Bushkill office, Centini, in March took the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate simulator test and scored high which allowed Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates to assist her in getting her Pennsylvania Real Estate license.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate hire Matt Jacobson as new Realtor ®

BUSHKILL - Matthew Jacobson, Realtor ®, has joined Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates as a Licensed Salesperson in the Bushkill Office.

In 1998 Jacobson received a Business Admin, Finance, and Real Estate Degree from Ohio State University. In addition Jacobson was honored with the Neil M. Klatskin Memorial and the Scarlet and Grey Scholarship at Ohio State.

Before getting his Real Estate license Matthew worked as a Mental Health Associate, Algebra Teacher, and a Credit Analyst. Jacobson specialized in everything from working 1-on-1 with patients, teacher and substitute teacher from grades K-12, and preparing loan offerings.

Jacobson, a resident in Bushkill, is a single father and a volunteer concert usher at the Bethel Woods Center for Performing Arts. Wilkins and Associates hire Napoli as Sales Agent

Bushkill - Maryann Napoli, Realtor, has joined the Sales Department at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates in their Bushkill office. Napoli will work under the direction of Christine A. Scrofano, Senior V.P./Assoc Broker and will concentrate efforts in the southern Pike County region of the Pocono Mountains.

Napoli was a Realtor in Sussex County for 9 years and in March of 2011 received her Pennsylvania Real Estate Salesperson’s license. Napoli has lived in Dingmans Ferry for the past 2 ½ years.

CARL MAURER TEAM AWARDED TOPS IN SALES 2010 FROM BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS WILKISN & ASSOCS

Bushkill - Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates announced Friday that the Carl Maurer Team was number one in the company in sales for 2010. The announcement was made by Dominick J. Sacci, President, in an interview at the Corporate office.

The Carl Maurer Team consists of Carl Maurer, Assoc Broker, Dennis Farrelly, Realtor, James Martin, newest member of the team and Donna Sorrentino, Maurer's licensed Administrative Assistant. Collectively, they handle over 15 banks, various lenders and REO companies including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in listing and selling foreclosed properties.

Said Carl Maurer, "While the market is still a bit depressed, we were pleased with our overall numbers for the year." Maurer has been with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates since 1998 when he joined the company as a Realtor. Maurer comes from New Jersey where he'd been in the bank and REO business for 20 years.

POC MT ASSOC OF REALTORS AWARD MURRAY WITH REALTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

Mount Airy Casino Resort- Nicole Murray, Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates was the 2010 recipient of the Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS® Realtor of the Year Award. Murray was introduced to the audience and presented a pin at the 2010 Holiday/Past President and Installation Dinner hosted by the Mount Airy Resort & Casino on December 4th. Over 225 Realtors, Brokers and guests were in attendance.

Realtor of the Year is one of the most prestigious awards presented by the Pocono Mountains Association of REALTORS®. Murray was chosen for a number of reasons including her professionalism in the real estate industry, her assistance to the community in which she lives, her being an active member of the PMAR MLS Committee and the achievement that she was one of the primary forces that brought CRS Tax Search, a very high tech, detailed and new software program, to the Realtors for searching owners online.

Bushkill – Teresa Olsen has joined Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Wilkins & Associates and will be working out of their Bushkill location, announces the company’s President, Dominick J. Sacci.

Teresa took her real estate license classes on line with Real Estate Express.com. She has seven years experience in the banking industry and has owned her own Avon business for the last eight years. Teresa earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from the Stratford Career Institute in 2003.

Personally, Olsen originates from Woodbridge New Jersey and has been living in Bushkill for the last two years with her husband Kirk, four children, five dogs, two guinea pigs, and cat.

Teresa was recruited by the company’s Recruiter-Associate Broker/Sales Manager, Dennis Mooney. Dennis says, “Teresa is a very experienced, outgoing lady, who brings with her an educational background. Real estate will be a great fit as she takes advantage of her business and educational talents”.
